About

I’m a Brisbane-based writer, traveller, lifelong student, and collector of stories.

Before turning my attention to fiction, I was a co-founder and director of a research consultancy specialising in public open space, and earlier on, a swimming coach. Along the way, I somehow kept accumulating university degrees. My formal qualifications include a Master of Natural Resources, a Bachelor of Laws, and a Bachelor of Urban & Regional Planning. During my law studies, I and was invited to join the Golden Key International Honour Society.

I’ve spent much of my life studying one thing while working in another and dreaming about a third; raising a family and nurturing an enduring curiosity about how people interact with places, and how places shape people in return.

Today, that curiosity finds its way into contemporary fiction, serial stories, travel tales, and personal essays. My stories range from mystery and suspense to humour and the unexpected connections that occur when people step outside their usual lives.

These days you’ll usually find me planning my next journey, exploring somewhere new, or wondering whether a chance encounter might become a story.
